Slobodyanyuk M. Anti-Nazi Resistance Movement in Southern Ukraine, 1941-1944

In this thesis the issue of the anti-Nazi Resistance movement activity in Southern Ukraine is investigated. Theoretical problems that hinder further investigations of anti-Nazi resistance movement have been analyzed. This work is the first attempt in historiography to provide an entire picture of the anti-Nazi movement on the territory of the region. The subject of this dissertation is anti-Nazi Resistance movement in Ukraine. The anti-Nazi movement consisted of the following: passive resistance by civil population, the Ukrainian National Resistance movement and the Ukrainian Soviet Resistance movement. Distinctive characteristics of this movement in comparison with other regions in Ukraine as well as the results of this movement and its historical significance have been determined.
