Modern notions pertaining to the development of the splenic blood vessels at an early stage of ontogenesis have been supplimented, the specific characteristics of the topography of the vascular trunks among themselves and the adjacent organs have been established, the dynamics of the embryotopographic change of the splenics vessels have been traced, from their anlage and till the birth of a baby, inclusirely. It has become possible to verify and substantiate a conception concerning primary organononsplecificity of the vessels of the dorsal mesentery that have been gradually transformed into a genuine splenic artery and vein since the oppearance of the primordium. Topographic variants of the trunk of the splenic artery and its branches, their number, the formation of the splenic trunk vein and its tributaries have been discovered.
