Essay

The essence, history of emergence and development of procuracy as well as principles of its organisation and activity are investigated. Attention is paid to the fact that in ancient times the principles were not specifically determined but were revealed in procurators' activity per se. The Constitution of Ukraine, unlike those in other countries, devoted a separate VII Chapter to procuracy and did not include it into any branch of state power, having determined thereby its separate independent position in the mechanism of the State.
