Brandys O. Adjectives with pleophonic and non-pleophonic roots as a word-formation basis of nouns in the Russian language

Object of Investigation: nearly 8000 words with pleophonic and non-pleophonic roots. Aim of Investigation: is to determine the features of similarity and difference in word-formation valency of the considered group of adjectives. Methods of Investigation: are the following: systematic-structural, descriptive, comparative, comparative-historical, functional and statistical. Scientific Novelty: for the first time on the fundamental source basis with the help of complex methods of investigation it has been made a multiaspect comparative analysis of a word-formation valency and a word-formation activity of Russian adjectives with the pleophonic and non-pleophonic roots; a considerable amount of new material has been introduced into scientific sirculation. Implantation: its implementation is under way. Sphere of application: in teaching at higher and secondary schools, in creating new works on historical and modern word-formation in the Russian language, in developing new types of dictionaries.
