Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the research into the status of social - law of the eparchial powers and clergy of Kyiv metropolitanate at the end of the XVІІІ - XІX centuries. The evolution of state policy towards the law support of the activities of Kiyv metropolitans and vicars, spiritual leaders and government, decorous and common eparchial priests has been researched. Different conflicting situations of social and church law and their influence on church life, taking into account the regional peculiarities of the metropolitate were found. Special attention was paid to the National Policy of autocracy towards church life and the state's influence on the functions of clergy and governmental eparchial powers.
