Kovalchuk I. Improvment of simple interlinear hybrid models of maize adapted to the conditions of Forest-Steppe Zone of Ukraine.

The object of the research: the best inbred lines of domestic and foreign selection and simple hybrids, created on their basis. The aim of the research: revealing of peculiarities of display of valuable agronomical features, their interrelations, the character of inheritance and the display of geterosis of these features under the conditions of Forest-Steppe Zone of Ukraine and the use of the received data for the improvement, of existing models of simple maize interlinear hybrids. Methods: general scientific and special. Theoretical and practical results:.The classification of the working collection of inbred maize lines was carried out according to their combinational and adaptive ability and the sources of valuable agronomical features were determined.The influence of geterosis on certain features and properties of simple hybrids was examined, regular trends of the formation of these features, the character of their inheritance and the relation to yielding capacity under conditions of Forest-SteppeZone of Ukraine were studied. On the basis of generalization of the results of the experiments some determining parameters were specified in earlier created models of early-season and mid-early-season hybrids of maize under the conditions of Forest-Steppe Zone of Ukraine. A degree of introduction: the results of the research are used in selection process at the institutions of Cherkasy and Kyiv areas. The sphere of use is selection practice.
