The dissertation encompasses the development of the theoretical principles of the translators' dictionaries compiling and their practical application - the dictionary of stylistically marked lexical units of L.Hrebinka's translation. The principles of Translation Studies and Contrastive Linguistics shape the basis for the authors' vocabularies research as well as the dictionary compiling. The key method employed is contrastive analysis alongside with componential, structural, contextual, interpretative analyses, continuous processing of the text, quantitative calculation of the main parameters of investigation and some other devices. Following the principle of regular correspondences and translator's transformations in a translation there has been developed a system of certain lexical, grammatical and stylistic comparisons of the original and the translations under research which is represented as a contrastive scheme that completes the entry. The scheme reflects the unit of the translation (word, phrase, sentence, text), shows the method of a word lexical meaning reproduction (by means of a lexical correspondence or a lexical substitution), fixes grammatical transformations, proves reflection, loss or compensation of the original stylistic nuance. Since only in a contextual environment the word can be correctly interpreted, thus quotations constitute the basis for conclusions taken place in a contrastive scheme. Quantitative methods of calculations of various research parameters have been carried out in order to ascertain the formal degree of accuracy of the original's lexical and stylistic richness reproduction in the translations, similarity and discrepancy of the vocabularies, characteristic features of M.Losinsky's, B.Pasternak's, L.Hrebinka's and H.Kochur's manner of translation. Data also help to support or to refute the four translations assessments given to them by critics (S.Dotsenko, M.Hablevych, I.Kostetsky, M.Novykova, M.Strikha, Ya.Slavutych, K.Chukovsky, Yu.Havruk, E.Etkind, V.Levik, M.Morozov, L.Ozerov). Thus, the basic data are as follows: the original contains 29 741 words, the translation of H.Kochur - 21 956, L.Hrebinka - 23 610, M.Losinsky - 23 185 words, the one done by B.Pasternak - 21 841. The index of words of "Hamlet" includes 4 271 lexical units (in the original), 4 270 (H.Kochur), 4 616 (L.Hrebinka), 4 307 (M.Losinsky), 4 493 (B.Pasternak). The amount of stylistically marked words is the following: 860/frequency 1409 (original), 639 /1 100 (H.Kochur), in L.Hrebinka's translation (on the basis of which the differential dictionary was compiled) - 971/1318, in M.Losinsky's work - 817 /1791 and B.Pasternak's - 864 /1395.
