Essay

The dissertation focuses on the complex study of functioning in Japanese translations of lexical and stylistic components of T. Shevchenko’s linguistic poetics on the basis of their analysis in lexical, phraseological, stylistic, conceptual-cultural, axiological and linguistic-cultural planes. In the first section the study of Ukrainian-Japanese translations in terms of comprehensive reproduction of formal-semantic unity indicates the need for logical search for compensatory tools in working with languages of distant systems. Particular attention is paid to the preservation of the purpose of communication against the background of the lack of parallelism of lexical and phraseological composition, caused by different conceptualization of extralinguistic reality in each of the languages. In substantiating the criteria of interlingual phraseological equivalence, it was found that in both languages, despite their diversity, there is a large group of semantically similar phraseological equivalents. The section also outlines the functional role of image reconstruction techniques and pragmatic adaptation in ensuring a balance of levels of equivalence and adequacy of translation. Adaptive translation strategies seem to be optimal - translation with a dominant attitude to the linguistic and cultural stereotypes of the recipient of the text. In this plane there is a phenomenon of adequacy the correspondence of translation to the new communicative situation, norms and standards of the target language and culture.
