The object is pedagogical heritage of H.Spencer; the aims are to research and systematically analize H.Spencer's pedagogical heritage, disclosing of his theoretical and practical input to the solution of the problem of individual education of pre-school and primary school aged children in the conditions of social and family education; the methods are historical-pedagogical, theoretical, generalization and systematization of historical materials, retrospective; the new approach lies in systematization and critically searched pedagogical activity of H.Spencer for the first time in Ukrainian history of Pedagogy, given the characteristics of his pedagogical concept of individual education of children; the results include the educational references; the field is history of pedagogy.
