The dissertation is devoted to the study of the figurative elements of poetic text, which reflect phonetic, prosodic, grammatical, and lexical peculiarities of the language material which form a verbal image. The application of methods of linguistic analysis for the theoretical study of translations assisted in comprehending the communicative essence of language by virtue of discription of its functioning in conditions of intralingual communication.
