Essay

The thesis deals with the complex studies of the national populists of the 19th century as an important part of the Ukrainian national movement in Galicia. An attempt of the social structure of the national populist leaders' analysis by means of prosopography method has been made. The sources of their ideology, based on the principles of nationalism and liberalism, their approaches to the nation have been described. The formation of the system of national populist's organizations, specifically "Narodna Rada", and the methods of their political activity are examined. Cooperation of ukrainophiles of Naddniepryanschyna and the representatives of national populist's movement is shown. Periodization of the "national" party's political activity is given.
