Pecherutsia T. Ukrainian snudies' ashects of Pavlo Riabkov's creative work (1848 - 1926)

Object - historical-cultural processes which took place in Ukraine in the second half of the 19th - first quarter of the 20th centuries, through the analysis of the diversified activity of the scholar and public figure P. Riabkov; the aim is the objective analysis of the scientific heritage and social-political activity of P. Riabkov; the methodological basis of the research lays upon principles of objectivity, systematization and historicism, which are realized through the general scientific methods and special methods of research, namely problematic-chronological, comparative, statistical, method of periods and method of critical-objective analysis of sources; the novelty is in setting and development of the actual problem, which has not received a proper separate comprehensive profound studying in historical science. Based upon a wide variety of sources, first of all archival documents, the first attempt of complex and detailed studying of scientific and social-political activity of the prominentscholar of Ukrainian Studies P. Riabkov was made, the practical significance of the thesis is in the possibility of applying its points and conclusions in academic activity at all educational levels, in particular while studying university courses in Ukrainian Studies, ethnography and history of Ukraine, and also for special courses in country studies; the field of applying - Ukrainian Studies
