YaREMENKO M. . Formation and main characteristics of monks of the Kyiv male monasteries (from the 20s - to the middle of the 80s XVIII cent.).

The formation of Kyiv's monks in XVIII cent. is researched. The numeral aspect of the monastery completion is defined; various ways of replenishing and depopulation of their inhabitans are showed; the reason of their arrival to chambers and their leaving are investigated. Monks are analysed as a separate social group; its intellectual and moral conditions, age characteristics, health, ability to carry out different obediences are researched. The hole monastery brethren rather than separate representatives are taken into account. There was researched that representatives mainly from lower social groups lived in Kyiv's monasteries; most of them were ukrainians ethnically, offten had older age and bad state of the health. The conclusions are supported by the statistical data.
