The thesis is devoted to the researches of the youth in the Ukrainian SSR in the 70-80-ies of the 20-th century based on the activity of the International Youth Tourism Agency called "Suputnyk" at the CC LCUYU and its regional offices. The factors that contributed to the development of tourism in the republic during the abovementioned period are enlightened in the thesis. The structure of this organization, form and methods of its tourist and excursion work with home and overseas youth are also reviewed in the paper.
