Essay

Dissertation is devoted to cognitive and pragmatic description of modern political metaphor in Russian language newspaper communication of Ukraine. Both cognitive and pragmatic aspects have been analysed in their interrelation. Pragmatic aspect is realized by revealing the main language means of pragmatic effect forming. Pragmatic directives of the sender are defined. Over-all cognitive analysis of political metaphor has been undertaken in the dissertation. In the thesis actual metaphorical models have been displayed and metaphorical paradigms have been built. Conceptual spheres-sources of actual metaphorical models have been structured in the paper.
