Borodina G. The South Ukraine librarian network history: creation and tendencies of development. (XІХth through the beginning of the XXth century).

The dissertation is devoted to the history of origin and functioning of libraries in the south of Ukraine from XIXth to the beginning of the XXth century which makes a part of the Ukrainian librarian work history. The author has investigated and depicted integrally the foundation and development of libraries in the country, revealed their main types and specific peculiarities, analysed main context books funds, sources of acquisition and financing, basic readers staff, its needs and service forms. The focus was concentrated on main tendencies in the librarian work; on the role of public figures-enlightners, zemstva and literary society in the process of libraries cultural and educational importance augmentation. The great massive of native publications has been characterized and found. It is a valuable informational source about south of Ukraine and whole Ukraine as well.
