Bichay J. "Modern" words in the current Russian language (on the material of explanatory dictionaries and the speech patterns of mass - media of the late XXth - early XXIst centuries).

The object is the nouns, which brighter than all demonstrate the "modern" processes in the current Russian language of the late XXth - early XXIst centuries. The aim is to analize and describe the "modern" words in the current Russian language. Method - descriptive. The criteria of the proper "modern" word have been revealed: orientation to up-to-dateness, novelty (renewed semantics); frequency and extent of usage; universality (mass usage); word-formation productivity (involvement into the Russian word-formation system, existence of the word-formation series; expressiveness and the element of play (word action, the change of nomination). The notion of a "modern" word has been introduced, implemented in the set of frequently used words in the focus of the language style and the speech practice of a contemporary human being and in the effective position of recognition due to specific word image and semantics because of their belonging to foreign and non- styled words accounting for their frequency and word-formation activity. The lexicographical file of some "supermodern" words was introduced, describing the stages of their entrance into the status of the "modern" word in particular. Various discourse methods of the "modern" word introduction into the spoken practice were revealed. Spheres of usage are training courses and journalism.
