The dissertation is devoted to the complex investigation of the soviet party press of USSR in the context of ukrainizatsii policy. On the basis of studied sources and literature the history of press as object and subject of the koreinizatsii policy is researched. Theoretical principles of ukrainizatsii in the information and propaganda spheres, the system of creation and functioning of Ukrainian periodical, it's material and tehnical situation, stuff supplement are defined in the work. Special attention is given to linguistic culture of the press and to the role of language factor of press in the realization of ukrainizatsii policy. The author investigated mechanisms of press influence over mass consciousness, defines methods of soviet stereotypes into public consciousness. The activity of censorship in limitation of printed word and national thought is shown in the thesis.
