Essay

The object of research is an ascetism as socio-cultural phenomenon. The aim of research is a revealing of ascetism as system phenomenon, determing its place in process of self-restriction and self-compulsion of person. Methods of research: system analysis, methods of abstraction and generalization, generally scientific methods. The novelty. The basic historical types of ascetism: archaic, imperativ-normative and love determined are revealed. The thechnology of ascetics in process of self-development of person is opened. Ascetism is determined as a socio-moral principle which is based on self-restriction, self-compulsion, self-perfection, on consciously strong-willed and subconscious determination of person's activity. The mechanism of self-realization of a person as a creative, ascetic orientationly activity is opened.
