Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the generalized philological, historical codycological and source research of the manuscript book in Ukraine in the XVI-th century. The array of manuscripts that are hold at the Institute of manuscript of VNLU was identified and analysed. The author has determined the basic methodical principles and specific features of the codycological description of manuscript books of the period. The main features of Ukrainian book culture of the XVI-th century is investigated (as for graphic, linguistic and book repertoire characteristics, paper using dynamics, the styles of book decoration). In the process of the investigation the codycological model in the form of the database of cyrillic manuscript books of the XVI-th century is realized.
