The purpose of the research - The dissertation is devoted to the research of problem of library and information support of the physical culture and sports subject area in Ukraine. The author analyzes foreign experience in the subject area support. Characteristic features of user information needs in the subject area have been specified. The author has developed conceptual foundations of the formation of the modern system of library and information support of the physical culture and sports subject area in Ukraine. He also gives his reasons for its organizational and functional structure. Strategic directions of improving document and information resources have been determined. The author considers Web portals as a means of systematic information organization in the the physical culture and sports subject area. The paper gives a detailed structural description of the document flow in the subject area and points out the logical sequence of its development.
