Barmenkova O. The comparative model of the world and its realization in I. Babel’s works

Object: an individual linguistic picture of the wold is made by I.Babel through the prism of comparative tropes. The purpose: descriptionof a comparative world model in the Russian language projected to I.Babel’s individual artistic world’s conception. Methods: descriptive analytical, of semantic and pragmatic interpretation of the text, of conceptual analysis, taxonimical, of componental analysis. Novelty: it is for the first time that I.Babel's world picture stratum has been researched; the constituents of the functional and semantic field of comparativeness in the Russian language have been identified; an approach to semantic interpretation of comparisons and metaphors has been formulated. Practical value: the results may be used in theoretical courses of Russian as well as stylistics, ethnolinguistics and psycholinguistics, in special courses of linguistic analysis of the text, of I.Babel’s artistic mastership.
