Abdullin A. Donbass Militia Activity (1956-1964): experience, problems, lessons.

The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of militia activity of Donbass in the period of “khruzhev’s thaw”. The struggle against the criminality in one of the most criminal regions of Ukraine (1956 – 1964) has been investigated basing on the archives’ materials. The role of normative and law supplying of law enforcement bodies’ functioning has been determined. The author has shown the peculiarities of organizational and structural reforming of Donbass militia in the situation of overcoming extremity of Stalin’s totalitarianism. The most important directions of the struggle against criminality (criminal offences, economic crimes, protection of public order) have been researched in the work. For the first time the great attention has been paid to the work with agents. The complex of contradictions and difficulties in the work of militia and its struggle with criminal circles has been determined. The militia activity is being examined in the complex with the coordination with the public bodies towardsthe prevention of crimes.
