Stepen'kin S. The Korsun regiment in XVII - the beginning of XVIII centuris.

The object is the history of the Korsun regiment in the context of the history of Pravoberizhzhya Ukraine. The aim is to demonstrate the political and social-economical life at the territory of the Korsun's district, and later of the Korsun regiment; to determine a place and role of the regiment in the history of Ukraine during XVII-beginning of XVIII centuries. The methods are historical-genetic, the method of periodization, statistical, deductive, inductive, analysis and synthesis. The complex history of the Korsun regiment and the main directions of its development are demonstrated in the dissertation on the basis of analysis of a large number of sources and literature. The problems, connected with determination of the regiment's role in the system of political, social, ethnic and economical relations in Ukraine, is investigated in the thesis. The main attention was paid to the participation of the Korsun Cossacks in the political events of XVII - beginning of XVIII centuries: the Cossacks' rebellions of the 30s of the XVII century, the National-liberation war of the middle of XVII century, the events of Ruyina period and revival of the Pravoberizhzhya Cossacks on the verge of XVII-XVIII centuries. The borders of the Korsun's district and the regiment have been investigated. The list of the Korsun's colonels has been worked out. Several archival sources have been included to the scientific circulation.
