Svyashenko Z. Social and political processes in Uman region in the period of the early and late Middle ages

In the dissertation we gave the complex analysis of historical processes which took place in the history of Uman region starting from the earliest times up to the middle of the XVII century, we studied the influence of the factors of the natural determinism on their development. We regarded the social and political processes held in Uman region (IV - XIII century), we studied the process of the development of nabive population in reqion. We reqarded the history of this reqion in the period of its beinq a part of Kiev Rus, investiqated the influence of monqolian-tartar hordes on Uman's population. We made an attempt to clear up the character of geopolitical strivings from the side of Lithuania, Poland and the Crimean khan-ate in the XIV-XVI centuries. We covered the role of Uman's population in the process of the formation of Cossacks as a new ethnocreabive forth.
