Essay

Object: Basilian Order of Greek-Catholic Church as the national-cultural phenomenon of the Ukrainian people. Aim: determination of endowment of Basilian Order in development of Ukrainian book publishing, Ukrainian church historiography, national consciousness of Ukrainians. Methods: systematization, tipologization, retrospective, problem-chronologic, historical-comparative. Results: the origin and development of publishing activity of Basilian Order are traced, role of Greek-Catholic Church in the national-cultural life of Western-Ukrainian region is reconstructed. Sphere of use: scientific, educational-pedagogical.
