This thesis is devoted to the problem of decoration of the traditional Ukrainian ceramics as an integral artistic and semantic system, it studies stable motives from the ancient times till the XX th century, provides an in-depth analysis of animal and the "flower" motives, mythological images, religious motives and images, everyday life scenes. The research performs comparative analysis of the national peculiarities of the decoration of Ukrainian ceramics in the Slavonic and partially West-European context.
