Essay

Patterns of the formation of Ukrainian national idea in the Eastern Galychyna during the first quarter of XX century and influence of Greek-catholic clergy on the processes of its strengthening were observed in dissertation. The comparative analysis of the observed problem in the works of historians, political science specialists, religious activists was done, a number of documents from the funds of Ukrainian central and oblast archives were worked out. Author described the role of spiritual intelligentsia in the process of formation of national consciousness in the Ukrainian population of the Eastern Galychyna at the beginning of XX century.
