Vedmedeva E. Development of collection of morphological marker traits sources in sunflower and studing their genetic control

The work presents the created collection of morphological marker trait sources of sunflower, which comprises both already known samples and samples with newly identified morphological traits. The genetic control of seven new morphological traits was studied: "Light brown colour of leaves", "Whitening bottom leaves", "Degradation of leaf plate top", "Zigzagging stem", "Dark green bracts", "Early yellowing bracts", "Dissected anthers". Independent inheritance of eleven pairs of morphological traits was shown. 9 sources of modified shape of sunflower ray flowers were found and their inheritance was determined. Two genes of long tubular-like ray flowers and one gene of short tubular-like ray flowers were described. Inheritance of 10 morphological traits, described earlier by other authors and suitable for using as markers was confirmed. Inheritance of internode numbers in several samples was studied.
