Complex studies using systematic approach have been carried out with the aim of creating the ointment for treating thrombophlebitis and its complications. On the basis of the results of physical and chemical biopharmaceutical and biological investigations the optimal composition has been developed and the rational ointment formulation with sodium heparine, mephenaminic acid, troxerutin, miramistine and dimexide has been grounded.The drug's quality indicators and methods of their identification have been proposed. The stability of the ointment during the process of its storing has been studied. The preclinical trials of the ointment developed under the cod name "Venohepar" have been carried out
