Gavrilov V. Social conditions of rural population in 1943-1953 (according to the materials of Northern Left-bank Ukraine).

The dissertation is devoted to an integrated study of social history of the Ukrainian peasantry, 1943 - 1953, is based on a wide circle of highly representative sources the main part of which is introduced into research practice for the first time. It enabled the author to analyse the state policy concerning rebuilding of kolhosp system ruined by the war; to determine the influence of taxation law on living standards of the peasantry; to observe the dynamics of peasants' remuneration rates in kolhosps; to study the importance of homestead land for a peasant household; to find out the reasons of deepening the imbalance in sexual and age structure of the rural population; to analyse the situation in village social institutions' activities; to find out the ways of social protest on the part of kolhosp peasantry.
