Essay

The archived sources of Gytomyr, Kiev, Ostroh, and Lublin are analyzed in dissertation. Author explored position of Lutsk-Gytomyr dioceses at the end of 18th and the first half of 19th century. There is description of activity of management's organs of dioceses in the conditions of strengthening of Russian autocracy. In dissertation noted features of church policy after joining Volhyn to the Russian empire. Author analyzed character of relations between Vatican and Russian empire. Found out reasons, that induced tsar's power to limit intercourse of catholic bishops, priests with Papa. Exposed methods that were used by the Russian government on purpose liquidate the economic and political influencing of Catholic Church on Volhyn.
