In the thesis there have been analyzed the activities of youth organizations of Ukraine at the end of the 50s - 80s of XX century using a wide range of sources. There have been studied the dynamic of the quantitative composition of Komsomol organization of Ukraine, the forms and methods of work with young people that can be used nowadays. There have been covered the process of transformation of komsomol organizations into state structures. There have been proved the fact of alternative youth organizations and analyzed their influence on the national-democratic movement in Ukraine at the end of the 1980s - at the beginning of the 1990s.
