The origin, formation, fate and development of the book and manuscript collection, as well as it's current status at V.I.Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine Institute of Manuscript is viewed as an important part of documentary sources for the numismatic studies in Ukraine in XIX-XX centuries. Special attention is paid to the archival documents of the collection owners: S. Shoduar, V.B. Antonovytch, K.V. Bolsunovs'kij, V.U. Danylevych, V.H.Ljaskorons'kij, M.I.Petrov, M.F.Biljashevs'kij, F.R.Shtejngel', Modzalevs'ki family, Odessa Scientific society for History and Rare Antiques, St. Vladimir's University in Kyiv, Ukraine Academy of Science.
