Smolka O. Inbreeding use efficiency buckwheat breeding for heterosis

Subject of inquiry - inbred lines of different depths of inbreeding and obtained on their basis variety and interline buckwheat hybrids. The aim of investigations consists of the detection of the inbreeding use efficiency when obtaining new parental material in form of inbred lines and developing high-heterotic buckwheat hybrids on their basis. The research methods are generally accepted for the development and study of parental material in crop breeding. The scientific conceptions about a component of the buckwheat multiplication system - a trait of self-incompatibility are extended in the direction of detail revealing of its recurrence depending on genotype, flower morphology, inbreeding depths, the environment conditions/ The methods of the buckweat line developments of different depths of inbreeding are improved. The parental material in a form of lines with high combining ability is created what secures the increase in hybrid productivity by 5.7-266.7 %. Twelve new inbred lines are used in the genetical and breeding researches of the Institute of Agriculture of the UAAS, the Sumy Institute of Agro-Industrial Production, the Podilsky State Agrarian and Technical University and other breeding research institutions.
