Object: The life and versatile activity of O. Kandyba-Olzhych in the context of Ukrainian national liberation movement for the Ukrainian state. Aim: complex investigation of O. Kandyba-Olzhych social, political and scientific activity in the first part of the 20th century. Methods: objective, historical, theoretical -and- scientific, empirical-and- theoretical. Results: O. Kandyba-Olzhych's place and role social, political and sci-entific life of Ukraine (the first part of the 20th century) has been shown; his contribution to Ukrain-ian national liberation process has been elucidated.
