Vocabulary, denoting names of food and kitchen utensils in Uzhansko-Latorytsky Hungarian dialects of Transcarpathia, contains much information on the most characteristic language features of the population which occupies the whole territory. The Hungarian language contains many borrowings from the languages it has been contacted with during a long period of time Slavonic, Turkic and German. Main means of nomination en richment of the names of food and kitchen utensils is due to both word-building and borrowings from other languages. The synonymic lines of the names of food and kitchen utensils have been revaled (112) and linguistic atlas compiled. The correlation between Uzhansko-Latorytsky Hungarian dialects and the Hungarian language and also Hungarian and Ukrainian dialects of Transcharpatia has been studied. On the basis of the present research the vocabulary of the names of food and kitchen utensils, containing 580 lexemes, has been compiled. Vocabulary of the names of food and kitchen utensilsis considered to be of great importance, as it vividly describes everyday life and culture of the popu- lation. Because of the raise of well-king of peoples this vocabulary layer rapidly chauges, many names disapper and the dialects under study lose their archaic features which cannot be found in the Hungarien dialects on the territory of Hungary.
