Allround, and integral approach analysis of scientific-educational and pedagogical activities of V.Naumenko (1852-1919) - the teacher and the methodical worker, the editor and the publisher, the scientist and the political worker, the active public figure is presented in the dissertation.The process of foundation and development of V.Naumenko's personality on the background of the national-educational movement in the Ukraine in the second part of the 19th - the beginning of the 20th century has been analyzed; the main factors of the formation of the V.Naumenko's outlook are defined. The content and direction of the scientific-educational and pedagogical activities of V.Naumenko and his role in the foundation of the Ukraine national school have been revealed, the pedagogical and methodical views and ideas of the worker about the development of the national education and upbringing have been researched.The new historical and pedagogical documents characterizing V.Naumenko as a scientist, educator, methodical worker are introduced into scientific practice. The main results, conceptions and conclusions of the research may be used in the course of the history of pedagogics, in creating textbooks, in training teachers at higher educational establishments, will assist the up-to-date transition of national educational experience.
