For the first time the research gives the whole description of the history of pedagogical congresses of Ukraine from the very source of it till complete destruction of the old system of education. the thesis makes the revision into periods. the research paper shows the influence of the congresses on the solution of educational problems of that time, on the formation and consolidation of the teachers corporation. The terms “pedagogical congress” and “pedagogical courses” are made more precise. The thesis research was held on the basis of using archive documents.
