Andriy Chaikovskyi was a Ukrainian national democrat and a well-known social and political leader in Halychyna in the end of the 19th –the first third of the 20th century. The period of his most active social work was the time when the Ukrainian national movement on the regional level was launched (the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century). He made a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian social organizations (“Prosvita”, “Nadiya”, “Berezhanskyi Boyan”, “Sich”) and Ukrainian national-democratic party in Berezhany, Sambir and Kolomyia..
