Demkovych Y. The Reproduction of Basic Material and Elite Seed Potato, Obtained from Different Varieties of Pre-basic Seed Potato.

The dissertation research is devoted to problem of using of different varieties of pre-basic seed potato, obtained by methods of thermotherapy, apical issue culture and improving selection into seed potato nurseries, into basic material and elite seed potato growing. It is established that yield productivity of potato varieties with field resistance and tolerance to virus infections is not substantially changed in the process of elite potato formation from different varieties of pre-basic seed potato, obtained by listed above methods. The strict following of complex of special seed-growing methods, first of all dimensional isolation of seed potato growing places from possible sources and transmitters of virus infection, is required. The speed of virus infection accumulation into elite potato formation process depends on biological specifics of potato varieties, especially on resistance and tolerance to virus infection. The main results of research were practically used into elite seed potato growing according to 4-years scheme.
