The dissertation is dedicated to the analysis of ecological crisis phenomenon as a factor of transformation of social and natural system. The matter of ecological crisis and the forms of its manifestation are exposed on the basis of the principle of co-evolutional development of "society-nature" system. The principal cognitive models of the investigation of society and nature co-evolution are examined, among them the effectiveness of just synergetic model in the research of social and natural contradictions is substantiated. The author is concentrated on the transformative features of ecological crisis and its development in the process of globalization. It is emphasized that overcoming social and natural contradictions is possible on condition of economy-dominated paradigm change for culture-oriented one when the ecological consciousness and responsibility are the basis of ecological danger minimization.
