Baglikova M. German prisoners of war in Donbass (1943-1954 уears).

The thesis is devoted to the German prisoners' of war Soviet captivity on examples of researching the state policy and its realization in one of the most specific regions of the USSR - Donbass. Basing on detail analyzing of different kinds of sources, the author has researched the main stages of law-making activity of the Soviet power regarding pris-oners of war as well as the correspondence of this activity to international norms. Regional differences of the Donbass prisoners of war camps, their structure and quantity stuff has been defined. Conditions' confining prisoners of war and their medical service has been analyzed. The autor has researched prisoners of war work for economy reconstruc-tion, the level of prisoners of war ability to work and rea-sons influencing this ability. The policy of repatriation and its main stages has been characterized. The conclusion about specific prisoners of war position in Donbass comparing with the rest regions of the Soviet Union (though there are some likeness in main features) as result of the strategic plans of regional reconstruction has been made.
