Kontzur V. Prognosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases course in the prophylaxis of disability

The thesis presents materials of clinical and functional investigations of 192 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), among them 48 patients were not classified as invalids, 77 patients have the ІІІ group of disability and 67 patients - ІІ group. The statistical analysis has been performed with the successive Vald' analysis. The basic prognostic unfavorable factors leading to disability and increasing of disability severity under COPD were specified. Diagnostic tables of risk prognosis of disability and increasing in COPD patients are proposed on the basis of the generally accepted clinical and functional methods of examination. Four levels of disability risk have been determined on the basis of calculation of sum prognostic coefficients, which allows to estimate the individual risk of disability under the COPD. The choice of the program of disability prophylaxis and rehabilitation of invalids with COPD that include medical, social, psychological and professional aspects depends on the disability risk. Additional methods of examination COPD patients with the most informing criteria of coming risk and increasing of disability severity were recommended.
