Kuzmuk O. Zaporozhian Host and Kyiv male monasteries in XVII - XVIII cent.: evolution of connections

The connections between Zaporozhian Host and Kyiv male monasteries during XVII - XVIII cent. have researched. The reasons of selection Merzygirja as host monastery by Zaporozhian Cossacks have defined; various ways of merzygirian monk's activity on the Zaporozhian's region have shown. The problem of division "soul" power between stauropegian Merzygirski and cathedral St. Sophia monasteries have investigated. The place of sicz churches superiors, samar's superiors and starokodacki governors in Zaporozhian Host Church's structure has researched. At the moment of "attacking" Sich, Zaporozhian Church was under Kyiv metropolit's rule. Other Kyiv male monasteries had no influence on Church in the Zaporozhian's region. Conditions of gathering alms at the Sich by kyiv's monks have researched; also making cossacks a monks and pilgrimage to Kyiv saint places have researched. The traditional sight on exceptional religious feelings of Zaporozhian Cossacks in conparison with other social groups has revised.
