The present thesis investigated the realization of New Economic Policy (NEP) in the Southern regions of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR). The investigation was made on the basis of wide range of documents and historical literature. Bolshevik party didn't have weighted strategy. The realization of NEP was the tribute to the political and economic situation inside the leadership of the Russian Communist Party (of Bolsheviks) - RCP (B). In the Southern regions of Ukraine NEP was realized according to the V. Lenin initiatives, but due to 1921-1923 famine it came into play with one/one and a half year delay. The peculiarity of the Southern regions of republic was the presence of market tradition (since 1860th) in the agricultural sector. The realization of NEP caused the evolution of agrarian sector towards farming. Ukrainian ports (Mykolaiv, Odesa, Ochakiv, Kherson) increase their activity at the beginning of the 1920th and had the potential to become the "sea windows", which, under good conditions, could cause the prosperity of the whole South of USSR. Private trade (middle and small one), various forms of industrial and agricultural cooperatives were traditional occupations for the population of the region.
