Morozova A. The Jews of the Left-bank of Ukraine (the letter half of the XIX – beginning of the XX-th century)

The object of study - the Jews of the Left-bank of Ukraine in the letter half of the XIX – beginning of the XX-th century. The purpose of study is to give complex characteristic and to find out feature of social, economic, cultural life of the Jews of the Left-bank of Ukraine in the letter half of the XIX – beginning of the XX-th century. The methods used in the research are: historizm, objectivity, multi-lateral, problem-chronological, ordering and classification, generalization and logic-system analysis. The practical value of the dissertation consists in use of its results in the further researches on a history of Ukraine and ethnology, at creation of the textbooks and manuals. Besides the materials of the dissertation can be used during teaching a history of Ukraine, special courses on a history of the national attitudes. Legal state of Jewish population in the letter half of the XIX-th –beginning of the XX-th century is investigated in the thesis. On the one hand, the discriminational policy of the tsarism about the place of living, movement and occupations of the separated kinds of work are noted. On the other hand, the positive policy in the education and religion are noted. The demographic processes and influence the social and economic factors on them are analysed. The reasons and consequences of the emigration of the Jews are found out. The main tendencies of Jewish population’s integration at the economics of this region – industry, trade and agriculture – and its peculiarities are investigated. The history of the creation, activity and decline of the Jewish agricultural colonies of the Left-bank of Ukraine are considered for the first time. The problems of the national-religions, general elementary and secondary education, the religion-spiritual life and influence the power on it are fully investigated.
