Essay

In dissertation has been ascertained, that municipal citizenship of Lviv in the 15th-18th centuries separated full-fledged citizens from the rest of inhabitants of Lviv, and from the citizens of the other cities too. It has been established, that this institution existed in Lviv in different modifications and the procedure of Lviv citizenship acquisition was simpler for the natives for Lviv and more complicated for the new comers. The Lviv municipal community was formed mostly with comers from small and middle towns; it included several ethnic and confessional groups, and had complex professional structure.
