Remmer S. Chrononyms as a specified category of Proper names.

Object is Russian Chrononyms. The aim is the system analysis of Chrononyms. Methods are interpretational-descriptive, statistical, classification, modeling, receptions of the rather-comparative and functional analysis, elements of the diachronical analysis. In the dissertation complex research of the Proper names of periods of time that have cultural and historical significance either for separate ethnos or the whole mankind is carried out. The definition of Chrononyms, characteristics of their specific features, that differ them from frontier appellatives, their links with the concept 'time' are given. Special attention is paid to the reflection of cultural peculiarities, people's mentality by chrononyms: they serve for fixing of people's memory about the most important historical events and phenomena of national culture by a word. Analysis of the nomination process, classification of Chrononyms, their semantic and structural peculiarities are carried out. Existence of Chrononimical system is groundedand its functioning in different styles of speech is analysed. Description of varying process in Chrononymy, specific character of stylistics and orthography of Chrononyms, basic trends in their functioning are given. The material of the dissertation can be used in lexicographical practice, in delivering academic courses on Linguistics, Russian Language, special courses on Onomastics and Science of Culture at Higher School Establishments.
