The thesis "The Ukrainian community motion for the national elementary education: the end of XIX - 1917" is dedicated to the urgent and scantily explored subject in historical literature. The state of the education in Ukraine at the end of XIX century, the elementary one in particular, was one of the main subjects for the Ukrainian intellectuals to be interested in. The attempt to explore the motion of patriotically concerned intellectuals for the national elementary education was given in this thesis and therefore to fill up the gap in the historiography of the subject.
